GHRH GHRP Mechanism

Meaning

The synergistic neuroendocrine pathway involving Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH) and Growth Hormone-Releasing Peptides (GHRPs) to stimulate the pituitary gland’s somatotroph cells. GHRH provides the primary, physiological stimulus for Growth Hormone (GH) release, while GHRPs, acting on the ghrelin receptor (GHSR), amplify this effect and increase the magnitude of the GH pulse. This dual-action mechanism is clinically leveraged to enhance endogenous GH secretion.
