GHRH Analogs

Meaning

GHRH Analogs are synthetic pharmaceutical agents structurally designed to mimic the natural hypothalamic hormone, Growth Hormone-Releasing Hormone (GHRH), or to act as antagonists. These compounds are utilized clinically to stimulate the anterior pituitary gland to increase the secretion of endogenous Growth Hormone (GH). They offer a therapeutic avenue for conditions characterized by insufficient somatotropin release. Precise structural modifications determine whether the analog is agonistic or antagonistic.
