GH Insensitivity

Meaning

GH Insensitivity, or Growth Hormone Insensitivity, describes a clinical condition where the body’s target cells exhibit a diminished or absent response to growth hormone (GH), despite the presence of normal or elevated circulating levels of the hormone. This impaired cellular responsiveness prevents GH from effectively signaling for its intended biological actions, most notably promoting somatic growth and influencing metabolism.
