GH-2000 Score

Meaning

The GH-2000 Score is a highly specific diagnostic tool, developed in the year 2000, utilized in anti-doping analysis to detect the illicit use of recombinant human Growth Hormone (rhGH) by athletes. This score is a mathematical algorithm that combines the measured serum levels of two key biomarkers—Insulin-like Growth Factor-I (IGF-I) and the N-terminal pro-peptide of type III collagen (P-III-NP)—into a single, sensitive index. It provides a statistical probability of exogenous GH administration based on deviations from normal physiological ranges.
