Geroscience Informed Practice

Meaning

Geroscience Informed Practice is a clinical and wellness approach that deliberately integrates the scientific understanding of the fundamental biological mechanisms of aging into health and intervention protocols. This practice shifts the focus from treating individual age-related diseases to targeting the common root causes of aging itself, such as cellular senescence, mitochondrial dysfunction, and chronic low-grade inflammation. By addressing these core processes, the aim is to compress morbidity and extend the period of peak health, or healthspan.
