Genetic Transcription

Meaning

Genetic Transcription is the foundational molecular process where the information encoded in a segment of DNA is copied into a complementary strand of messenger RNA (mRNA). This mRNA molecule then carries the genetic blueprint from the cell nucleus to the cytoplasm, where it directs protein synthesis. Transcription is the essential first step in gene expression, dictating which proteins, including hormone receptors and metabolic enzymes, are produced and at what rate. Optimal hormonal health is intrinsically linked to the precise and regulated transcription of key metabolic and signaling genes.
