Gene Expression and Aging

Meaning

Gene Expression and Aging describes the age-dependent alterations in the pattern of which genes are actively transcribed into functional RNA and subsequently translated into proteins throughout the body’s systems, including the endocrine network. This process often involves epigenetic drift, leading to the silencing of protective longevity genes or the upregulation of pro-inflammatory transcripts. It is the molecular fingerprint of biological time progression.
