Gallbladder Issues

Meaning

Gallbladder issues refer to a range of pathological conditions affecting the gallbladder, a small organ situated beneath the liver responsible for storing and concentrating bile. The most common issues include cholelithiasis, the formation of gallstones, and cholecystitis, which is the inflammation of the gallbladder wall. These conditions frequently manifest with pain in the upper right abdomen, often following a fatty meal. In the context of hormonal health, fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone, such as during pregnancy or hormone replacement therapy, are known to alter bile composition and gallbladder motility, thereby increasing the risk of stone formation.
