Force Majeure

Meaning

In the context of human physiology, Force Majeure is a metaphorical term describing an acute, overwhelming, and unpredictable biological event that causes a sudden, catastrophic disruption to the body’s complex homeostatic systems, rendering normal regulatory mechanisms ineffective. This biological crisis, analogous to an act of nature, might include a severe septic shock, a massive hemorrhage, or an acute, life-threatening endocrine storm. Such an event fundamentally alters the patient’s metabolic and hormonal equilibrium, requiring immediate, high-level clinical intervention outside of standard chronic care protocols.
