Meaning

Female Sexual Arousal Disorder (FSAD), now often categorized as Female Sexual Interest/Arousal Disorder (FSIAD) in clinical diagnostics, is a persistent or recurrent inability to achieve or maintain adequate genital or subjective sexual arousal despite appropriate stimulation. This condition manifests as a lack of or significant decrease in genital lubrication and swelling, subjective feelings of sexual excitement, or both, causing marked personal distress. It is a complex dysfunction that involves an interplay of vascular, neurological, and hormonal factors, significantly impacting a woman’s sexual health and quality of life.
