Female Hormone Therapy

Meaning

Female Hormone Therapy (FHT), often referred to as Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) or Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT), involves the clinical administration of hormones, primarily estrogen and often progesterone, to alleviate symptoms caused by declining endogenous hormone production. This therapeutic intervention is typically utilized to manage vasomotor symptoms, urogenital atrophy, and bone density loss associated with perimenopause and menopause. The goal is to restore hormonal balance, improving quality of life and mitigating long-term health risks.
