Exogenous Signaling Interference

Meaning

Exogenous Signaling Interference refers to the disruption of the body’s native endocrine or neurochemical communication systems by chemical agents or environmental factors originating from outside the organism. These interfering substances, often termed endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) or xenobiotics, can mimic, block, or alter the synthesis, transport, or metabolism of endogenous hormones. The resulting interference compromises the precision of the body’s internal communication, leading to homeostatic imbalance and adverse health outcomes.
