Exercise-Induced Inflammation

Meaning

Exercise-Induced Inflammation is the transient, localized inflammatory response in muscle and connective tissues immediately following strenuous or unaccustomed physical activity. This acute, controlled inflammatory state is a necessary physiological process, initiating the cascade for muscle repair, remodeling, and subsequent adaptation, ultimately leading to improved strength and endurance. While chronic, systemic inflammation is detrimental to hormonal health, this acute, localized response is a positive signal for anabolic recovery and is tightly regulated by anti-inflammatory hormones.
