Executive Drive Recalibration

Meaning

Executive Drive Recalibration is the clinical process of restoring and optimizing the intrinsic motivation, capacity for planning, and the initiation of goal-directed behaviors, which are collectively components of executive function. Recalibration implies correcting a suboptimal state, often characterized by apathy, procrastination, or low energy, back to a state of vigorous, self-starting engagement and sustained action. This functional state is intimately linked to the dopaminergic reward system and the modulating effects of key systemic hormones.
