Euthyroidism

Meaning

Euthyroidism is the physiological and clinical state of having a normally functioning thyroid gland, characterized by circulating levels of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) and Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH) that are within their respective healthy reference ranges. This balanced state ensures the optimal metabolic rate and cellular energy utilization throughout the body. It represents the successful and appropriate regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis.
