Euthyroid State

Meaning

The euthyroid state describes a clinical and physiological condition where the thyroid gland is functioning normally, producing and secreting appropriate amounts of thyroid hormones. This state is characterized by thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), free thyroxine (fT4), and free triiodothyronine (fT3) levels that fall within their respective narrow reference ranges. Achieving and maintaining euthyroidism is the primary goal of treatment for thyroid disorders.
