Estrogen Therapy

Meaning

Estrogen Therapy, often termed Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) when addressing deficiency states, involves administering exogenous estrogenic compounds to achieve or restore physiological levels. Clinically, this intervention is utilized to manage symptoms associated with hypoestrogenism, such as menopausal vasomotor symptoms or bone density loss. Precise titration is necessary to balance symptom relief with minimizing risks associated with supra-physiological exposure. We administer this to support target tissues dependent on estrogen signaling.
