Estrogen Fluctuations

Meaning

Estrogen fluctuations describe the dynamic, often rhythmic, changes in the circulating concentration of estrogen hormones within the body. These natural shifts are most pronounced throughout the menstrual cycle in reproductive-aged individuals, characterized by predictable peaks and troughs in estradiol levels. Significant, often erratic, fluctuations also mark key physiological transitions, such as the perimenopausal period and the postpartum phase. These changes are responsible for a wide range of physiological symptoms.
