Estrogen Clearance Rate Analysis

Meaning

A clinical assessment quantifying the speed and efficiency with which the body, primarily the liver and gut, metabolizes and excretes estrogen and its active metabolites from the circulation. This analysis focuses on the relative proportions of various estrogen metabolites, such as the 2-hydroxy, 4-hydroxy, and 16-hydroxy pathways. A slow or imbalanced clearance rate can result in prolonged exposure to potentially proliferative or genotoxic metabolites.
