Estradiol Dysregulation

Meaning

A state of imbalance in the circulating levels or tissue responsiveness of estradiol, the most potent and primary estrogen hormone. This dysregulation encompasses conditions of both relative excess and deficiency, as well as abnormal metabolic clearance, impacting reproductive, skeletal, cardiovascular, and cognitive health. Clinical assessment of this condition requires measuring total and free estradiol, along with key metabolites.
