Essential Amino Acids

Meaning

Essential Amino Acids (EAAs) are a group of nine specific amino acids that cannot be synthesized endogenously by the human body in sufficient quantities to meet physiological needs and must therefore be obtained consistently through dietary intake. These indispensable nutrients are mandatory for protein synthesis, tissue repair, and the creation of numerous non-protein biomolecules, including hormones and neurotransmitters. Adequate intake of all nine EAAs is a non-negotiable requirement for optimal health, supporting everything from muscle maintenance to balanced endocrine function. A diet lacking in any one EAA can compromise systemic metabolic processes.
