Erectile Function Integrity

Meaning

The clinical assessment of the physiological capacity to achieve and maintain a penile erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance, reflecting the complex, coordinated function of the vascular, neurological, and endocrine systems. Optimal integrity requires sufficient nitric oxide production, healthy smooth muscle relaxation, and adequate androgenic support, particularly from testosterone. Diminished integrity often serves as an early clinical indicator of systemic vascular compromise or hormonal imbalance.
