Energetic Surplus

Meaning

Energetic Surplus is a state where the body’s total energy intake and production significantly exceed the immediate energy expenditure required for basal metabolic rate and daily activity. This surplus of available adenosine triphosphate (ATP) allows the organism to allocate energy resources toward non-essential, but vital, processes such as tissue repair, immune surveillance, and hormonal synthesis. It is a fundamental requirement for optimal anabolism and physiological thriving.
