Endotoxin Reduction

Meaning

Endotoxin reduction is the clinical and therapeutic process aimed at lowering the systemic load of endotoxins, primarily lipopolysaccharide (LPS), which are components of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. Elevated circulating LPS is a potent trigger for chronic, low-grade inflammation, which significantly impairs metabolic and hormonal signaling. Successfully reducing this burden is a key strategy for improving insulin sensitivity and overall longevity.
