Endometrial Carcinoma

Meaning

Endometrial carcinoma is a malignant neoplasm originating from the epithelial cells lining the endometrium, the inner layer of the uterus. It represents the most common gynecological malignancy in developed countries and is strongly associated with prolonged, unopposed exposure to estrogen. Clinical management requires precise staging and often involves surgical intervention, sometimes followed by radiation or chemotherapy. Understanding the hormonal drivers is central to both prevention and targeted treatment strategies.
