Endometrial Atrophy

Meaning

Endometrial atrophy refers to the thinning and regression of the endometrial lining, the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus. This condition typically arises from a significant reduction in estrogen stimulation, leading to a decrease in cellular proliferation and glandular activity within the uterine lining. It represents a physiological adaptation to diminished hormonal support rather than an active pathological process in most cases.
