Endogenous GLP-1 Production

Meaning

Endogenous GLP-1 production refers to the body’s inherent capacity to synthesize and release Glucagon-Like Peptide-1, an incretin hormone. This peptide is primarily produced by L-cells, specialized enteroendocrine cells located predominantly in the distal small intestine and colon, in response to the presence of nutrients within the gut lumen.
