Endocrine Strain

Meaning

Endocrine Strain is defined as the persistent physiological burden placed upon the body’s endocrine system, resulting from chronic exposure to physical, emotional, or metabolic stressors. This strain forces the glands, particularly the adrenals and thyroid, to operate outside their optimal homeostatic range for extended periods. Sustained demand for stress hormones, such as cortisol, eventually leads to dysregulation of the HPA axis and downstream effects on sex and thyroid hormones. Clinical manifestation often includes subtle but pervasive changes in energy, mood, and metabolic function.
