Endocrine Shifts

Meaning

Endocrine Shifts refer to significant, often dynamic, alterations in the production, secretion, transport, or target tissue responsiveness to systemic hormones. These shifts can be acute, such as those induced by immediate stress, or chronic, resulting from aging or environmental exposures. Clinically, recognizing these transitions is paramount because they dictate changes in metabolic rate, body composition, and mood regulation. We observe these shifts as the body attempts to adapt to new homeostatic demands.
