Endocrine Feedback Dysregulation

Meaning

A pathological condition characterized by a breakdown in the finely tuned homeostatic control loops that regulate hormone secretion within the endocrine system, most notably involving the hypothalamic-pituitary-target organ axes. This dysregulation results in inappropriate hormone levels—either excessive, deficient, or improperly timed—because the pituitary or hypothalamus fails to correctly interpret the circulating concentrations of peripheral hormones. It represents a loss of precision in the body’s systemic chemical communication.
