Endocrine Dysfunctions

Meaning

A broad category of clinical conditions characterized by the abnormal functioning of one or more glands within the endocrine system, resulting in either a deficiency or an excess of specific hormones. These dysfunctions encompass disorders such as hypothyroidism, hypercortisolism (Cushing’s syndrome), diabetes mellitus, and hypogonadism. Identifying and correcting these imbalances is the central goal of endocrinology and hormonal health management. These conditions disrupt systemic homeostasis, affecting metabolism, mood, reproduction, and growth across the lifespan.
