Endocrine Disruptors Workplace

Meaning

This term refers to the presence of exogenous chemical agents within the professional environment that interfere with the synthesis, secretion, transport, binding, action, or elimination of endogenous hormones, thereby negatively impacting employee health. Common examples of these disruptors include plasticizers, flame retardants, and certain industrial solvents found in office furnishings, air, or equipment. Chronic, low-level exposure in the workplace can contribute to subtle but significant hormonal dysregulation across the entire workforce.
