Endocrine Disruption

Meaning

Endocrine Disruption refers to the interference with the normal function of the endocrine system by exogenous chemicals, known as Endocrine-Disrupting Chemicals. These chemicals can mimic, block, or otherwise alter the action of endogenous hormones, leading to adverse health effects in an organism or its offspring. This disruption can impact reproductive health, metabolism, neurological development, and immune function.
