Endocrine Communication Fidelity

Meaning

The clinical measure of the accuracy and efficiency with which hormonal signals are generated, transmitted, and received throughout the endocrine system and target tissues. High fidelity implies precise hormone synthesis, minimal interference during transport, and optimal receptor sensitivity at the cellular level. Diminished fidelity, often seen with aging or chronic disease, leads to ambiguous cellular instruction and impaired physiological function, even if circulating hormone levels appear adequate. It is a critical determinant of true hormonal health.
