Emerging Biomarkers

Meaning

Emerging biomarkers are measurable biological indicators, found in blood, tissue, or other bodily fluids, that are currently in the early stages of clinical validation for use in diagnostics, prognosis, or therapeutic monitoring within endocrinology and related fields. These novel molecules, genetic signatures, or imaging characteristics hold the potential to offer more precise, earlier, or less invasive insights into hormonal status, disease progression, or treatment response. Their clinical utility is still under intensive investigation, differentiating them from established, routinely used diagnostic markers like mathrmTSH or total testosterone. They represent the leading edge of precision medicine and personalized intervention in hormonal health.
