DunedinPACE Velocity

Meaning

DunedinPACE Velocity is a novel, single-time-point measure of the pace of biological aging, quantifying the rate at which an individual’s body is deteriorating relative to the chronological passage of time. Unlike static measures of biological age, which estimate the current age of the body, the ‘Velocity’ component provides a dynamic metric of aging acceleration or deceleration. A velocity greater than 1.0 indicates accelerated aging, while a velocity less than 1.0 suggests a slower, more favorable aging trajectory. This advanced biomarker is a powerful tool for monitoring the effectiveness of longevity interventions in a clinical setting.
