Dunedin PACE

Meaning

Dunedin PACE is a novel, highly sensitive measure of the Pace of Aging Calculated from the Epigenome, derived from longitudinal data collected in the Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study. This epigenetic clock is designed to quantify the rate at which an individual’s biological systems are deteriorating over time, expressed as years of biological aging per chronological year. A value greater than 1.0 indicates accelerated aging, which is strongly linked to hormonal and metabolic decline.
