DQSA

Meaning

DQSA is the widely recognized acronym for the Drug Quality and Security Act, a landmark piece of United States federal legislation enacted in 2013. This Act fundamentally revised and strengthened the regulatory framework governing drug compounding and the security of the prescription drug supply chain. It established the new classification of Outsourcing Facilities (503B facilities), subjecting them to federal Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) standards, which significantly enhances patient safety. The legislation aims to ensure the quality and integrity of compounded sterile medications across the nation.
