Disability in Wellness Context

Meaning

This concept acknowledges that physiological or psychological conditions, even those not classified as traditional medical disabilities, can severely limit an individual’s ability to participate in or benefit from standard wellness programs. It mandates a perspective shift where ‘disability’ includes any chronic hormonal, metabolic, or systemic dysfunction that imposes a genuine barrier to achieving equitable health goals. The focus is on removing barriers to equitable wellness participation, recognizing that health is a spectrum.
