Digital Stressors

Meaning

Environmental and behavioral factors arising from the ubiquitous presence and continuous interaction with digital technology that can induce a measurable physiological stress response in the human body. These stressors include blue light exposure disrupting circadian rhythm, constant notification alerts leading to chronic hyper-vigilance, and the cognitive load of information overload. Their cumulative impact can significantly dysregulate the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis.
