Diagnostic Hormone Panels

Meaning

Diagnostic hormone panels are standardized collections of laboratory tests designed to simultaneously measure the concentrations of multiple, functionally related hormones in a biological fluid, typically serum or saliva. These panels provide a comprehensive snapshot of a specific endocrine axis or glandular function, such as the thyroid or gonadal system. Clinicians utilize these results to accurately diagnose hormonal imbalances, monitor the efficacy of hormone replacement therapy, and investigate complex endocrine disorders. Interpreting the ratios and relationships between the various hormones offers greater clinical utility than single hormone measurements alone.
