DHEAS

Meaning

DHEAS, or Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate, is a primary steroid hormone produced predominantly by the adrenal glands, with minor contributions from the gonads. It serves as a crucial precursor molecule in the body, readily converting into more potent androgens like testosterone and dihydrotestosterone, as well as estrogens, in various peripheral tissues. This sulfated form provides stability and allows for its abundant circulation throughout the bloodstream.
