DHEA Modulation

Meaning

DHEA Modulation is the clinical and physiological process of regulating the synthesis, circulating levels, and metabolic conversion of Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), the most abundant circulating adrenal steroid. This modulation aims to optimize DHEA levels, often referred to as a pro-hormone, to support its role as a precursor for sex hormones, including testosterone and estrogen, and its direct neurosteroid functions. Appropriate modulation is critical for supporting immune function, bone density, and mood stability, especially as endogenous production declines with age.
