DHEA Anti-Inflammation

Meaning

DHEA Anti-Inflammation refers to the documented biological property of the adrenal steroid dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) and its sulfated form, DHEA-S, to exert counter-regulatory effects against chronic, low-grade systemic inflammation. This action is distinct from the primary role of cortisol but is integral to the overall balance of the HPA axis and the body’s immunological homeostasis. Maintaining adequate DHEA levels is considered a protective factor against age-related inflammatory decline, often termed “inflammaging.”
