DHA EPA Bioavailability

Meaning

This quantifies the proportion of ingested Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) and Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) that successfully enters systemic circulation, incorporates into cell membranes, and participates in functional signaling pathways. Low bioavailability means the intended physiological benefit is not realized. We assess this to ensure therapeutic efficacy of supplementation. It is a measure of absorption fidelity.
