Delta Wave Activity

Meaning

Delta wave activity refers to the slowest and highest amplitude brainwaves, typically oscillating at a frequency range of 0.5 to 4 Hertz. These electrophysiological patterns are predominantly observed during the deepest stages of non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep, often referred to as slow-wave sleep, and signify a state of profound physiological rest and recuperation.
