Deep Sleep Index

Meaning

The Deep Sleep Index is a quantitative metric used in sleep science and wellness tracking to assess the quality and efficiency of the Slow-Wave Sleep (SWS) stage, also known as deep sleep. This index often represents the percentage of total sleep time spent in SWS or a composite score reflecting the density and duration of delta wave activity. A higher index correlates with superior physical restoration, growth hormone release, and declarative memory consolidation.
