Deep Sleep Duration

Meaning

Deep Sleep Duration is the total time spent in the Slow-Wave Sleep (SWS) stage, also known as N3 or non-REM sleep, which is the most physically and cognitively restorative phase of the sleep cycle. This stage is physiologically defined by high-amplitude, low-frequency delta brain waves and is essential for physical recovery, tissue repair, and the consolidation of declarative memories. Clinically adequate duration is a key biomarker for systemic health and neurocognitive function.
