De-Identification Techniques

Meaning

A set of standardized, methodical processes used to remove or obscure personal identifiers from health records so that the remaining information cannot reasonably be linked back to the individual patient. These techniques transform sensitive clinical data into an anonymized format suitable for large-scale research, statistical analysis, and public health reporting without compromising patient privacy. The resulting data retains its scientific value while shedding its personal risk.
