Data Harmonization

Meaning

Data Harmonization is the process of standardizing and integrating data collected from multiple, disparate sources, such as different clinical trials, electronic health records, or patient-reported outcomes, into a single, consistent format. In hormonal health research, this is critical for combining datasets that measure various endocrine biomarkers, like thyroid hormones or sex steroids, using different assays or units. The goal is to ensure that all variables are comparable and interoperable, thereby enabling robust meta-analyses and large-scale epidemiological studies.
